Challenge
Create a cross-platform music storefront and player that utilizes micropayments to purchase individual licenses to songs. Understand the marketplace for early streaming music including limitations and potential value.
Process
Competitive analysis of popular streaming services including Last.FM and Grooveshark to determine optimal playlist interaction. Wireframes of each scenario from browse to purchase to share and redeem were produced in conjunction with hi-fidelity screens. Iteration was conducted with feedback from Artefact team members.
Solution
The final application design was bundled with other social tools for maximum marketability. Users were able to share messages with embedded music purchased through they Music 5 marketing system, which improved product visibility to non-users via invitation.
