Panasonic TV
Challenge
Envision and prototype a smart TV portal UX. Design authentication for users with transitions. Define the passive 10' interactive experience. Work responsively to incorporate feedback from international clients temporarily on location.
Process
Using wireframes, I detailed the interaction flows and transitions. Compared layouts and refined the overlapping functionality to establish consistency. The inspiration for navigation of applications and actions came from the steering wheel. Presented lists in a more traditional format to maintain legacy set-top interface familiarity.
Solution
The prototype accessed Picassa, Flickr, YouTube, and Google maps, allowing the tester to experiment with transport controls and navigate collections. This design was used to develop additional "white-label" console solutions built around the brand of UIEvolution. The prototype was also a first for a new GUI-style prototyping tool.
